The following changes are included in this release

Checkout

All-new single page checkout. We’ve rebuilt the checkout as a single streamlined page, no more clicking through multiple steps. It covers delivery vs click and collect, a foldable basket summary, postcode delivery estimates, gift wrap, and Ts&Cs confirmation, and now completes payment on-page (no more being bounced off-site) for Opayo, Klarna, Google Pay and GlobalPayments. Windcave now completes on-page too. Windcave payments load inline in checkout instead of redirecting customers away from your site to pay. (WEB-3178)

Klarna button styling. The Klarna checkout button now displays with correct branding and spacing. (WEB-3117)

Special instructions for click & collect. Customers picking up an order can now add a note (e.g. collection or gift instructions) directly at checkout. (WEB-3097)

Faster checkout with lots of discounts. Fixed an issue where baskets containing many discounted products could slow checkout down. (WEB-3193)

Fixed: place order button showing incorrectly after a session timeout. (WEB-2936)

Fixed: occasional missing VAT on orders, particularly when there was a long gap between adding items to the basket and completing checkout. (WEB-2968)

Fixed: a rare crash on returning from a Windcave/PaymentExpress payment. (WEB-3209)

Payments

Global Payments reliability improvements:

  • Fixed discounted prices occasionally not being applied correctly to the charged amount. (WEB-3121)
  • Orders now finalise correctly even if the customer’s browser fails to return to the site after paying. (WEB-3206)
  • Fixed an error when checking out via GlobalPayments with no delivery address (e.g. click & collect). (WEB-3207)
  • Added safeguards so payments taken are no longer at risk of an order failing to finalise silently. (WEB-3201)

Fixed: duplicate SagePay/Opayo payments could occasionally be recorded against a single order — now prevented. (WEB-3116)

Fixed: Opayo vouchers being marked as redeemed before an order actually completed. Vouchers are now only redeemed on successful payment. (WEB-3111)

Fixed: loyalty and discount voucher confirmation emails not being sent in some cases. (WEB-3211)

Loyalty

Loyalty points balance now shown on the customer account page. (WEB-1816)

Product & Search

Fixed: search not finding products with “&” in the title (e.g. searching correctly returns items like “C&D Test”). (WEB-2977)

Fixed: search missing short search terms (2 characters or fewer, e.g. “XL”). (WEB-3153)

Fixed: wrong image occasionally shown in search results for some products. (WEB-3208)

Default product options now select an in-stock option. Product pages with default option selection now pick the first in-stock option automatically, so an out-of-stock item is no longer selected by default. (WEB-3029)

Fixed: product title repeating when selecting a product option on pages with multiple title elements. (WEB-3200)

Configurable swatch stock text. The “x available” stock message shown against swatches can now be configured per site. (WEB-2973)

New: per-address product order caps. Retailers can now cap how many of a given product a customer can order to the same delivery address within a set period. (WEB-2120)

Delivery

Fixed: overlapping postcode rules. Postcode include/exclude rules now match correctly where codes overlap (e.g. an RG1 rule no longer incorrectly also matches RG14). (WEB-2924)

Analytics & Compliance

Improved GA4 ecommerce tracking. Checkout event tracking (begin_checkout, add_shipping_info, add_payment_info, view_item_list, purchase) now fires accurately and at the right step. (WEB-2958)

Google Consent Mode v2 added to the cookie consent popup, passing customer consent choices through to Google tags. (WEB-2964)

Site Performance & Reliability

  • Faster, more reliable cache rebuilds on sites with large classification trees. (WEB-3179)
  • Fixed sites occasionally getting stuck in a restart loop. (WEB-3141)
  • Fixed an intermittent crash affecting vendor article trails/navigation during startup. (WEB-3152)
  • Faster category refine/filter performance on large catalogues. (WEB-3149)
  • Faster site startup for retailers with many discount schemes. (WEB-3139)
  • Fixed an intermittent HTTP 500 error on logout. (WEB-2746)
  • Restored top-level categories missing from navigation on multi-root sites. (WEB-3202)
  • Underlying library upgrade (Jersey) for improved API stability. (WEB-3145)
  • Regression fix avoiding pointless product URL lookups / log noise. (WEB-2935)

Navigation

Fixed: iPad landscape navigation — the first click on a level-2 menu item now follows the link straight away instead of only highlighting it. (WEB-2690)
