Connect 6 is the latest release of the award-winning solution for retailers.

This release includes a smart modern looking user interface and some exciting new features. Many of these are free of charge to all Intelligent Retail customers with support contracts. This document explains about these new features and how to enable them. Please also see further information on the website release notes for the latest version of web build that is compatible with Connect 6.

 

New features in Connect 6

  • Connect POS has a new look with new buttons, colour schemes, fonts and splash screens.
  • New suite of A4 documentation which can now be customised by Intelligent Retail.*
  • Print gift receipts by single line or multiple lines instead of the whole transaction.
  • Support for new faster TP-85 thermal receipt printer.
  • Discounts now show in the scrolling banner at POS for all products’ discount schemes regardless of whether the scheme has been activated or not.
  • You no longer need to tick articles in all locations of the web stock tree for a web discount to apply – just ticking one will now auto apply the others too.
  • New discount schemes to support discounts by a monetary amount.
  • New HMRC compliant thermal receipts.
  • New advanced wireless handheld scanner menu.

Connect 6 back office

Enhancements include:

We have given the Connect till screen and back office a visual overhaul. We’ve updated the look and feel by creating a cleaner user interface which has a more modern and fresh appearance. The buttons are consistent in colour, feature a smart rollover function and are much easier to use. We hope you like the new look as much as we do!

How would I enable it?

This feature is already enabled in Version 6 or above. If you don’t see the new format till screen, please go to the back office and click Files>Tools>Configure and then select the ‘Configuration’ tab. Then click the folder called ‘Theme’ and click ‘Theme Name’ and enter ‘default’ as per the screenshot below. You may then need to restart your Connect licence to apply the configuration change.

Customised A4 documentation

Price: *bespoke service priced on a per hour basis dependent on the requirement

Enhancements include:

  • We have developed a process to externalise some of the documentation which allows for additional data fields to show on documents if required, such as VAT rates and VAT amount or Discount % off or Discount Value off.
  • Currently Invoices and Quotations are available, other types of documentation may be available upon request.
  • Each customised document requires a brief discussion to outline the requirement in terms of data fields and then a cost proposal will be issued.

 

Print gift receipts by single line or multiple lines instead of the whole transaction

Price: Free to customers with current support contracts

Enhancements include:

  • Where you have a transaction with multiple items on it, you now can select a single item or multiple items from the transaction to issue a gift receipt.

Why use it?

Offers the customer the ability to retain the receipt containing multiple items, whilst providing a gift receipt for any item or items that are gifts.

How would I enable it?

This feature is already enabled in Version 6 or above. To action the gift receipt simply select the lines in the transaction that you wish to print a gift receipt for and then ‘Right Click’ and select ‘Print Gift Receipt’.

 

Support for new faster TP-85 thermal receipt printer

Price: TP-85 receipt printer from £179 + VAT

Enhancements include:

  • We now offer, as an alternative to the Epson TM-T88, the new Oxhoo TP-85 Receipt printer. This is a faster printer at a lower price point.

Why use it?

If you are buying new till hardware, upgrading or replacing a receipt printer then the TP-85 offers a cost-effective alternative.

 

Discounts now show in the scrolling banner at POS for all products’ discount schemes whether the scheme been activated or not

Enhancements include:

  • When items that have been included in a discount scheme are added to a transaction, a scrolling banner will appear in the transaction window to show the name of the discount scheme or schemes.
  • The scrolling banner will show even if the discount scheme has not yet been activated.

Why use it?

This feature is useful to till operators to indicate a product or products are in a promotion as it serves as a visual reminder or prompt i.e. ‘Buy One Get One Free’ or ‘Buy 3 for £10’ etc.

How would I enable it?

This feature is already enabled in Version 6 or above. To action this feature simply create a discount scheme and include some products in it.

 

You no longer need to tick articles in all locations of the web stock tree for a web discount to apply – just ticking one will now auto apply the others too

Enhancements include:

  • Previously, if you had a product that appeared in multiple category folders in the web stock tree that were in a web discount scheme, you needed to tick all the locations that the product appeared in for the discount scheme to work. Now, you only need to tick the product in one of the locations for the discount scheme to work for all those product locations.

Why use it?

This saves you having to remember to locate and select a product in all folders in the web stock tree where the product exists, in order to include the product in a web discount scheme.

How would I enable it?

This feature is already enabled in Version 6 or above. To action this feature simply create a web discount scheme and include some products in it that appear in multiple locations in the web stock tree.

 

New discount schemes to support discounts by a monetary amount

Enhancements include:

  • Ability to perform discounts by a (£) monetary amount
  • This functionality offers;
    • Monetary amount off. i.e. spend £100 get £10 off.
    • Buy 3 get £2 off
    • £2 off all X products
    • Ability to have a discount promo code for an amount i.e. £10 off with web code TENOFF

Why use it?

This functionality adds more flexibility to your discount schemes and promotions, drives revenue through up-selling.

How would I enable it?

New advanced wireless handheld scanner menu

Price: Free with current support contracts for those that have the handheld scanners

Enhancements include:

  • We have improved the menu of the handheld scanners, which now feature one consistent menu that includes PO and Goods In capabilities in the same menu.

    5. Add to PO
    6. Logout

New HMRC compliant thermal receipts

Price: Free with current support contracts

Enhancements include:

  • The receipt detail now breaks down the VAT to display the Inc. and EX. VAT for each of the VAT rates
