In this guide we will look at restricting the Till session buttons so you can only start a session if a session has been ended and you can only end a session if a prior start session has taken place.
Enabling this Feature
In the Back Office, go to Tools > Configure
Click the ‘Configuration’ tab.
Locate and expand the ‘Till Preferences’ folder.
Click on ‘Restrict Start and End of Session Buttons’ and change the value on the right to ‘Y’
Press ‘OK’ and restart Connect for the changes to take effect.

How it Displays
Click on the button labelled No Sale on the till.
You will now notice that you can only click on ‘Start of session’.
Once the session has been started, by going back to ‘No Sale’, you will see you can now only click on ‘End of session’.
